After a long hiatus American Hi-Fi, best known for the global hits “Flavor Of The Weak”, “Another Perfect Day” and “The Art Of Losing”, make their long-awaited return to the UK with a very special gig at London's legendary 100 Club on May 7th. This will be the first time the band has performed in the UK since their sold-out 2005 tour with Bowling For Soup.

Formed in Boston in 1998 by former Veruca Salt / Letters To Cleo drummer Stacy Jones, American Hi-Fi quickly became alternative rock radio staples with multiple hit singles from their Bob Rock-produced debut album and its follow up “The Art Of Losing”. Influenced by power-pop titans Cheap Trick and infusing the grittier elements of My Bloody Valentine and The Pixies, American Hi-Fi provided the soundtrack to a generation of rock fans across the world.

The band's self-titled debut album spawned the timeless hits “Flavor Of The Weak” and “Another Perfect Day”, both accompanied by iconic videos that remain in rotation on music channels today. The drum-driven title track of the follow-up release, “The Art Of Losing” was yet another anthem that is still as instantly recognisable today was it was back in 2003.

In 2005 the band toured the UK with Texan pop-punks Bowling For Soup in support of their Butch Walker-produced album “Hearts On Parade”. Drawing on the classic British pop sounds Elvis Costello, The Kinks and The Beatles, the album had a lighter feel yet still retained Hi-Fi's trademark pop-rock hooks. A single, “The Geeks Get The Girls”, was released to coincide with the UK tour while a track that didn't make the album, “The Rescue”, was included on the soundtrack and trailers for the movie “Superman Returns”, earning the band radio airplay into 2006.

That year, American Hi-Fi began work on their latest album to date. The release of “Fight The Frequency” was preceded by demos available exclusively on the band's Myspace page but label struggles delayed the finished album, which eventually saw the light in 2010 along with an iTunes EP.

Since then, singer Stacy Jones has been busy touring the world with Miley Cyrus as her drummer and musical director alongside his fellow American Hi-Fi alumnus Jamie Arentzen. Stacy has also undertaken drum duties for US rock supergroup Matchbox Twenty, most recently touring the UK and Europe with the band in 2013 while Jamie has toured Japan as part of Butch Walker's band.

This special gig in London takes place in the middle of the mammoth Miley Cyrus “Bangerz” world tour and gives the band the perfect opportunity to light the touchpaper on the release of their as-yet-untitled follow-up album. Recorded in 2013, the album is due for release later in the year and the 100 Club audience will be the first to hear a taste of it in addition to a setlist packed with classics that will take you back to what many consider to be a pinnacle era of US pop-rock.

American Hi-Fi play the 100 Club, Oxford Street on May 7th. Tickets are £14 from and Tickets on sale Friday March 28th.

Lit Announce “A Place In The Sun” 15th Anniversary Tour

A.Jay Popoff / Jeremy Popoff / Kevin Baldes / Nathan Walker

Following their long-awaited return to the UK in 2013 for Download Festival, Orange County rock band Lit hop across the pond once again this May for a very special tour.

The multi-platinum-selling band will celebrate the 15 year anniversary of their breakthrough “A Place In The Sun” album with string of headline shows.

09 – Alte Seilerei, Mannheim, Germany

10 – De Helling, Utrecht, Netherlands

11 – Luxor, Cologne, Germany

13 – Cathouse, Glasgow, UK

14 – Club Academy, Manchester, UK

15 – Electric Ballroom, London, UK

16 – Button Factory, Dublin, UK

Anyone who witnessed last summer's massive Castle Donington crowd singing along to every word of the album's global mega-hit “My Own Worst Enemy” will testify that “A Place In The Sun” is still as relevant and fresh today as it was on its release in 1999. To make an album that strikes a chord around the world in its year of release is one thing, but to produce one that includes three massive hit singles and an enduring anthem that spans generations is an achievement few can accomplish.

“My Own Worst Enemy” won the Billboard Award for Biggest Selling Modern Rock Song of 1999 after racking up 12 straight weeks at the top of the US Modern Rock chart. Digital download figures alone are now well over 650,000, an amazing feat considering that the single was released years before the advent of online music sales.

The song, along with the album's two other hit singles, “Ziplock” and “Miserable” (accompanied by a memorable video featuring Pamela Anderson which helped it become one of the top ten most played rock songs of 2000), made Lit MTV mainstays with appearances on the network's landmark “Spring Break” and “Cribs” shows. Tours with No Doubt, The Offspring and Garbage followed with the band clocking up close to 500 shows across the globe within a two year period as well as numerous appearances on the late night talk show circuit including “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Late Night with Conan O'Brien”.

It wasn't long before Lit's huge success in the US crossed the Atlantic. “My Own Worst Enemy” hit the UK Top 20 and earned them appearances on “The Big Breakfast” and “Top Of The Pops” as well as a coveted slot on the Reading and Leeds Festival mainstage.

Their most recent album, the critically acclaimed “The View From The Bottom”, was released last year after a lengthy absence from the UK, yet a one-off headline gig at London's Koko in June confirmed that the band had lost none of its edge, with new tracks like “The Broken” and “Miss You Gone” slotting in perfectly next to the classic hits.

“Overflowing with gritty and raucous energy…Lit are absolutely excellent” – Punktastic

“It feels like they haven't been away.” – Hit The Floor

“Polished fare awash with slick harmonies, clean guitars, heavy drumbeats, giant hooks and an unadulterated wall of gleaming pop.” – Rock Sound

“The wait was most definitely worth it. Welcome back Lit.” –

“They've not skipped a beat, picking up where they left off.” – Kerrang

The “A Place In The Sun” 15th Anniversary Tour may be a celebration of past achievements with the album being played in its entirety for the first time, but it also marks the beginning of a band moving forward to their next chapter and giving fans old and new a masterclass in American rock. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
